About the Author

Terry is the youngest of four brothers, was born in Newton, Kansas. Like many youth, he discovered a sense of adventure, loved jumping his banana bike over curbs and other objects, got stuck traipsing through ever-thickening mud, played sports and became an avid movie fan. It’s all there in his personal story.

He graduated from John Brown University (BS, Business Administration) worked in a shop, then retail, before going back to school and getting two more degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div and Doctor of Ministry).

Terry is the Chief Executive Officer at one of the largest rescue missions in the country and is a sought-after speaker. He is only the fifth CEO of City Union Mission in its 100-year history.

Terry and his wife Becky live in Overland Park and have two adult sons.
